Munich 2025 - From May 2 to 4, 2025, 5th mmi Free Impro Festival

the MMI Festival arrived in Munich and transformed Einstein Kultur into a vibrant meeting point for Europe’s free improvisation scene. Over three evenings, nine concerts brought together sixteen musicians from across the continent, many of whom had never performed together before.

The Munich edition once again highlighted the essence of the MMI Festival: an international platform where improvisers meet, experiment, and build connections across scenes and cultures, inviting the audience to share in the unpredictable beauty of collective creation.

True to the spirit of the festival, the artists stepped on stage without predetermined structures or rehearsed arrangements. Instead, they relied on attentive listening, intuition, and the courage to embrace the unknown. Each set became a unique exploration of sound, interaction, and spontaneity—music created entirely in the moment and never to be repeated in the same way.
